A Queer 20th Anniversary celebrated the 20th anniversary of Hennessy's coming out solo performance, Saliva, with a full season of events including performances, a zine, and a queer performance marathon, Too Much! The performances - one premiere and two restaged works - were complimented by both teaching and archive projects. A Queer 20th engaged a complex approach to socially-conscious autobiography and the evolution of an accessible, subversive and queer Voice. Additionally the season highlighted grassroots arts spaces and their contributions to aesthetic experimentation and community organizing in San Francisco. Spaces involved included: CounterPULSE, Cellspace, Dance Mission, Mama Calizo's Voice Factory, and Art of the Matter's Studio 210.
